Studio as Stage

        I am excited when I walk  into my studio, much the same way I have been  excited to walk on to the stage of  the Metropolitan Opera to sing. To me, both Stage, and Studio are creative, and challenging spaces, alive with possibilities.

In my works,  I explore both representational and nonrepresentational projects, consisting of landscapes, Opera and Theater,  and often figurative works. 

 Mostly, I work in oil paint, but I also work with pastels as well as watercolors. My  works are  usually planned,  structurally and color-wise,  through sketches, and photographs, both from the field, and in the  Studio.
                         

 After visiting the northeast coast of Scotland, and falling in love with it, my work has been and continues to be greatly  inspired by the  beauty and magnificence of  the area.
